Key Stage 4

Curricula Links

The National Curriculum sets out the full and statutory entitlement to learning for all pupils in state schools. It determines the content of what will be taught, and sets attainment targets for learning. It gives teachers, pupils, parents, employers and their wider community a clear and shared understanding of the skills and knowledge that young people will gain at school.

Presented in these pages are a selection of teaching aids and resources to assist in applying the materials presented within Soil-Net to students in Key Stage 4 (ages 14-16, school years 10-11) leading to the GCSE.

Curriculum 'mappings' are provided by us on these pages of the parts of Soil-Net we feel that could be utilised in each appropriate module.

Secondly there are a series of suggested activities, both indoors and outdoors for students to undertake.

Lastly there are a set of resources which can be used to develop soil-related lessons in the school.

Curriculum mappings are provided for both the OCR Awarding body and the AQA Awarding body.

If you are using other parts of Soil-Net in ways not noted here, please let us know. We would always appreciate assistance in identifying these mappings if you can help!
