Howden le Wear

Howden le Wear in Durham (Location: NZ 161 335) used to have a busy railway station as you can see. However, in the late 1960's, when the station was no longer needed, the land was reclaimed as shown below. The cutting was then used as a land fill site which was then grassed over and then abandoned while the land fill settled.
